Notes: The top half of the page is from life, then later I went back using what I learned and tried to make the other half of the page into imagination faces. By far the life ones are better, but it was still a really fun exercise that I will have to repeat. I think it helped me get a better grasp on faces...

Notes: I wanted to paint an Asian-themed still-life, so I decided it would be this. The cloth took way too long by comparison to the rest. Done completely in square brush. About an hour and a half.
You got loads of good stuff going on here man.
ReplyDeleteSome advice though. In the drawing with the girl playing fallout the shading looks a bit quick and dirty. when your crosshatcing like that it looks a lot nicer if you lift the pencil for etch line.
and try to make the lines curve with the form

your still lifes lack some realism and my guess is that you colorpick a lot, witch in photoshop dulls down the colors. try to look closely at each aeria of of the thing you'r painting and dont just asume that becous someitng is one color the whole thing will be that same color :)
